How to check a Meta ad
- Choose your 9:16 ad image, or drop it onto the tool. It is cropped to 9:16, and you can drag it to move the crop.
- Pick the canvas size: 1080 × 1920 works, 1440 × 2560 is what Meta recommends.
- Look at the red areas and the green frame. Headlines, logos and the call to action belong inside the green frame.
- Save the check image to share with your team, or save the cropped image.
The numbers
- 1080 × 1920: 269 px free at the top, 672 px at the bottom, 65 px on each side. Safe area 950 × 979 px.
- 1440 × 2560: 358 px free at the top, 896 px at the bottom, 86 px on each side. Safe area 1268 × 1306 px.
Why the bottom is so large
In Stories and Reels ads the account name and the Sponsored label sit at the top, and the caption and the button sit at the bottom. The safe area is about half the height of the frame. Design the 9:16 version for that area. Stretching a 4:5 layout taller puts the headline where the button will be.
What happens to your image?
Nothing leaves your device. Your browser reads and draws the image itself, so there is no upload and no server involved. That also makes it safe for unreleased campaigns.
